A woman photographer, believed to be Valerie Suau, and publisher of French magazine
"Closer" are facing criminal charges over topless pictures of the Duchess of Cambridge,
which were taken and published in the magazine.
Kate Middleton, 32, and Prince William, 32, took legal action against the French magazine
"Closer". Their lawyer, Aurelien Hamelle, said that the royal couple suffered a “grotesque
breach of privacy and felt ‘violated’ during a ‘highly intimate moment during a scene of married life.
Valerie Suau, the photographer believed to have taken the topless photos using a long lens to
capture the topless shots of Kate Middleton as she and Prince William sunbathed at
Viscount Linley’s retreat, Chateau d’Autet, in Provence France. Valerie Suau has been placed
under formal criminal investigation, along with publisher of French magazine "Closer", believed to
be Ernesto Mauri. While they’re both facing charges, Valerie insists her pictures are “all decent.”
and says she took pictures of Kate in her swimsuit. and denies taking any topless photos of Kate.
