Just judging by the spate of import models that have been gaining popularity over the past decade, it's no secret that the Philippines fancies Brazilians.
Maybe it's the familiar tropical weather, the endearing hospitality of locals, and/or the abundance of employment opportunities that have led them into making our country their home base. Some, however, admit to just falling in love with the place, like FHM's October 2017 cover girl, who has warmly embraced the Philippines and even calls herself a "Brazilipina."
Daiana Menezes initially turned heads as one of the sultry guest hosts on Eat Bulaga! for five years, which translated to a productive showbiz career (Dobol Trobol: Lets Get Redi 2 Rambol!, Fiercest of Them All). This is actually her second time gracing FHM's cover, debuting in the October 2011 issue.
It's easy to see that the 30-year-old multihyphenate (actress, host, endorser, advocate, and businesswoman) is very much at home in a foreign land, where she has built quite a following of her own.
When asked what her secret is, Daiana admits, "I don't have a strategy. I don't really plan on stuff like that. I just go with it. What I love most now is IG Stories, because you can be more real. I think what social media does is help you be yourself. You don't need to play any role. If I had to give any tips on engaging better on social media, I'd say keep it real. That, and always keep up with your followers."
The regular updates—mostly bikini snaps and hard-at-work photos—are gratifying, yes, but this might be the best news yet: our favorite amiga is currently single and "back on the market."
"I think I am forever a kid trying to get out of a little shell. I may come across as confident but there are a lot of insecurities," she confesses. "Love life—oh my God!—it never works. If anyone out there is a good candidate, please let me know. I am always looking for love. I am a hopeless romantic."
Don't worry, D! It won't be long until Mr. Right arrives, should you want him.
